In the festival opening concert “A LO CUBANO”,  an impressive lineup of virtuoso musicians, including Rene Izquierdo, Rafael Padron, Mesut Özgen, Celso Cano, Thomas Uriarte, Duo Exaudi, Cuba Guitar Duo, and Amernet String Quartet, present a program of Cuban style solo and chamber works by internationally renowned composers, including Maestros Leo Brouwer, Eduardo Martin, Manuel Saumell, Ignacio Cervantes, Orlando Jacinto Garcia, and Fredrick Kaufman.

Among the featured works are Cuban Contradanzas, the U.S. premiere of Garcia’s Musica para Oaxaca for two guitars and string quartet, and the world premiere of Kaufman’s Catalan Concertante for two guitars, viola, and cello.
