Mark Hart is the Executive and Artistic Director of Miami’s Community Arts Program (CAP) and its award-winning after-school Conservatory for the Arts and Miami Jazz Institute. He is an avid supporter of the arts as artist, broadcaster, consultant, and presenter. Mark’s sound fiscal management, marketing, and artistic understanding bring added impact to his role in the arts. With the Community Arts Program (CAP), Mark oversees the funding, programming, production, development, and administration of the acclaimed CAP Summer Concert Series and the CAP Conservatory for the Arts (winner of the Artist Impact Award from the Children’s Cultural Coalition). The Conservatory for the Arts affords music training to all children—no matter what their circumstances—through an engaging curriculum that includes after-school music classes and performing ensembles. The CAP Summer Concert Series and the CAP Conservatory for the Arts focus on a continuing and impact-filled outreach into the South Florida community. He also serves as the Executive Producer of CAP Records®.
Mark gained much experience within the South Florida arts market during his work at South Florida’s former classical music station, WTMI FM. There, he was Community Affairs Director and Producer and Host of the daily afternoon drive-time program, The Open Road (voted by Miami as Best Classical Radio Program). At WTMI, Mark also wrote, produced, and hosted Cantilena (interviews, biographies, and recordings of those who most influenced the world of classical vocal music), and Community Aware (a social-issues talk show). As past President of the Miami Bach Society, Mark was instrumental in helping to develop its International Tropical Baroque Music Festival and International Cultural Exchange.
Mark serves as a cultural grants review panelist for the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs. He is engaged by New World Symphony (NWS)—America’s Orchestral Academy—as a NWS Fellows’ Communications Coach. Mark is also a voting member within the American Recording Academy (producer of the GRAMMY® Awards). Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and Voice (a NATS Competition winner) and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing.
