The 2025 Miami International GuitART Festival presents the 19th century music specialist and virtuoso guitarist Marco Batttaglia in a solo concert “From Opera to Fantasy,” performing a program of works by the 19th century Italian masters: Matteo Carcassi, Antoine de Lhoyer, and Caspar Joseph Mertz. The program will include a recently discovered work by Carcassi, which will be the world premiere in modern times.

Mr. Batttaglia plays a 19th century guitar that was once belonged to famous Italian Patriot Giuseppe Mazzini, made by Gennaro Fabricatore in 1811 in Napoli / Strada S. Giacomo n.° 37”.
