Elvis Martínez is a Venezuelan bassist, guitarist, composer, and arranger born in Maracaibo in 1968. He began his musical career at a young age in popular ensembles such as Los Mundiales and later completed extensive formal training at the José Luis Paz Music Conservatory, where he studied theory, solfège, and double bass for eleven years.

In 1991, he joined the Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra, where he debuted as a soloist and remained an active member for 26 years. Alongside his orchestral career, Martínez became a prominent figure in Venezuelan experimental and traditional music, collaborating closely with renowned flutist Huáscar Barradas and sharing the stage with leading Latin American artists. He has recorded over fifteen albums with Barradas and performed internationally across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Elvis Martínez has also toured extensively with artists such as Alexis Cárdenas and Miguel Siso, participating in major international festivals and Grammy-winning projects, including Identidad (Latin Grammy, 2018). In addition to his performance career, he served for 17 years as a professor of double bass at the José Luis Paz Music Conservatory, training generations of musicians who now perform on international stages.
