The 2022 Miami International GuitART Festival presents guitarist and composer James Moore in an eclectic program of 20th century and contemporary music for steel-string resonator guitar, featuring solo compositions by Lou Harrison and selections from John Zorn’s The Book of Heads, a notorious and explosive tour de force of wild extended techniques. James will also be joined by his longstanding duo partner, violinist Andie Tanning for performances of in absentia by former FIU faculty member Paula Matthusen and Fiddly Tune by Lainie Fefferman (both featured on their debut album Gertrudes), as well as a new suite of pieces by Pat Muchmore, and a sneak peak of a project in development with composer Eve Beglarian, What Are the Chances?, based on the poetry of James Tate.
